The pcb wired guitars are inferior to hand wired not because of the printed circuit board but because gibson chooses to use 260k pots for the volume and 460k pots for tone. Gibson can then have less skilled people assemble them. It also allows gibson to get more creative with wiring schemes without having rf issues and the complexity of all that extra wiring. 250k pots are fine for fender guitars with single coils.

In addition they use a cheap 0 01 ceramic disk cap of 0 022 mfd value. The hb circuit board pickups are my favorite gibsons along with the burstbucker pros. I changed the pickups in the guitar and while doing that i also changed out the wiring pots switch and jack. Some of the vendors on mylespaul do these kits just as nicely for half the price and this is with premium cts 550k pots with vintage taper pio caps etc.
