Gluing copper sheet. The highest strength bonds are created with methyl cyanoacrylates such as the original permabond 910. Gently scuff sand the back of the copper veneer with 80 or 120 grit sandpaper. Solderless copper bonding also known as cold soldering gluing copper or cold welding uses a liquid durable polymer which is applied to rigid pipe fittings to literally weld them together hermetically absolutely nothing can get in impenetrable. Apply adhesive to the prepared surface as the manufacturer directs.
Copper glue solutions cyberbond is highly regarded for setting the strictest requirements for all of the adhesives we produce. Cyberbond is the adhesives manufacturer you can depend upon for superior quality copper adhesives available in high strength low viscosity quick set time or a variety of colors. Prefit the parts to make sure there are no big gaps. Apply the metal glue.
Cyanoacrylate adhesives or instant adhesives are ideal for bonding copper. Paint a thin layer of adhesive onto the entire etched surface of the copper sheet. Rub the rag over the entire surface of the two sides of sheet metal you will be gluing together. Position the pieces and press together.
Use fine grit sandpaper to roughen the metal surfaces you will be gluing together. Step 1 lay the two sheets you will be gluing together on a flat surface and pour acetone onto a clean rag. Clean the metal. Soak a rag in lacquer thinner and thoroughly polish the newly etched surface with it.
Surfaces should be clean and dry. Scrub thoroughly and remove all grease and other grime from the sheet metal. Take care to not touch your bare fingertips to the surfaces to be bonded.
